An enhanced CD is a CD that has special stuff on it that you can play on your computer. Like some pictures and a maybe a video.
I have a 95 explorer sport with a 6 disk CD changer. And I bought the new LImp Bizkit CD a couple of weeks go. Ever since then that CD has had static in it. It gets worse when I go around a curve. Also after playing that CD for a few songs, the display says NO CD and the radio comes on. I have to take the CD changer out and put it back in for it to work. And then sometimes it will skip that CD. For instance if the CD is in slot #3, then it will go from 1 to 2 to 4 to 5 to 6. I've exchanged it for another CD. With the same problem. I have another CD that is enhanced and it does the same thing, but not as severly. Although I have had the other CD for a while and I have never noticed this problem before. The on;y think that I have changed was my tires. I got some A/T tires, I thought that the tires might shake the player around, but the CD still has static when my truck is stopped. Should I just get a new cd changer? Anybody had this problem?

I had the problem where the changer wasn't reading the CD it would go from one CD to the other and saying ERROR. The problem was the laser needed relined or replaced, I just bought another changer.

It looks as though you think it could be a problem with enhanced CD's. Though I don't know what the problem is, I don't even have a changer. However, the problem must be either in the changer or somewhere in the wiring. It is not caused by the E-CD unless your changer is a p.o.s. and I doubt it is. I know a lot a burning CD's and all the crap about how they are read. An enhanced CD is written with 2 sessions, one for audio one for data. The car's CD laser can not read the enhanced data so it simply bypasses it as if it were emtpy. The audio is kept in a completely different section of the CD and could not be interfered with by the data part unless the laser is trying to read the data, but even that would not render the problem you are having. I'd have the changer checked out.

It should not be doning that because it is an enhanced CD. The CD has the Stuff for the computer in a totaly different spot on the CD My Limp Biskit has worked fine in all my players but I dont have a Ford Changer either. It can be one of two things a defective Cd or a defective Changer. If you have a friend that has the same CD try it in your player. If it still does it, it might be the changer itself rejecting the CD The Sony CD Changer I have in my Navajo will play all CDs but CD-Rs that I have made in my computer. but my head unit can play them fine...

I have exchanged the CD once and the new one still does the same thing, so it's not he CD. It plays fine in my computer, and in my brothers home stereo. I have another E-CD and it does the same thing, but just not as bad.

I still say you should have the changer checked out. The problem might be that the CD's are Enhanced, however I asure you that it is with your changer. All changers have to follow a set standard on data reading, so if your's can not read E-Cd's, it is the fault of the manufactuer and should be covered under any warranty. The only CDs' that might not play in a changer are homemade CD-Rs ( and of course CD-RWs), but I have never encountered this either. I have the Limp Bizkit CD, and it plays fine on my car CD-head unit, and the Enhanced part works great on my PC. I'd take the changer to a local store just to have it checked out. Then request that the manufactuer fix the prob. If they tell you that the problem is not covered, that's BS. Unless you have touched or scratched the lens, the problem could not have been caused by yourself or any application of the changer whether standard or otherwise. Hope this helps.
