Entertainment System 2016 Ford Exporer Platinum Issue

I have a 2016 Ford Explorer Platinum and today the entertainment system stopped working. It would not turn on, could not select sources, and the 6 MFT buttons on the right side of the steering wheel stopped working. I did a master reset 3 times with no change. HAs anyone else experienced this and if so is there a solution?

I'm guessing you are referring to the radio and not the MFT screen. Have you checked fuses linked to the radio? You could also try diconnecting the negative battery cable for a few minutes and then reconnecting. I'd check the fuse(s) first.

This is a known issue on 2016 Platinum's and your dealer can update the ACM to resolve it. I haven't had it happen since I had mine updated.

SSM 45945 - 2016 F150, Mustang And Explorer - No Audio After Starting The Engine - Screen Displays Loading Or Audio Off Message - Built On Or Before 4/15/2016

Some 2016 F150, Mustang and Explorer vehicles equipped with a 3.5L GTDI, 2.3L GTDI or 2.7L GTDI engine built on or before 4/15/2016, and equipped with Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) or Engine Sound Enhancement (ESE), may exhibit no audio and/or display an Audio Off or Loading message after starting the engine. Reprogram the Audio Control Module (ACM) to the latest calibration using IDS release 101.03 or higher.

One temporary fix is to turn the vehicle off, lock it, and move the key away from it for about 10 minutes. This power cycles the Audio Control Module and gets everything working again.
