MY EXPLORER IS STALLING WHEN PUT IN GEAR WONT IDLE HESITATES WHEN PULLING AWAY THEN STALLS AGAIN WHEN YOU STOP AGAIN NO POWER THERE BUT RUNS OK ON LPG IF I CAN GET ENGINE WARM ENOUGH TO SWITCH TO LPG AND HELP MUCH APPRECIATED:mad:

Did i read in one of jcasey's threads that the gas system doesn't take an input from the MAF? If this is the case i would start by cleaning that. There is a how to in the US part of the site on cleaning the MAF. Not sure about how to test but again a search about this may yield results.
Do you have access to a code reader?
The other thing to check is the fuel pressure. There is a schraider valve on top of the engine where you can attach a gauge. If you don't have access to a gauge then you could try replacing the fuel filter first.
So to sum up, if i had that problem i would clean the MAF (£4 for electrical contact cleaner) and if that didn't remedy then replace the fuel filter (£10).
If neither of these work then it's time to get some proper diagnostics with a code reader and a fuel pressure gauge.

PS where in the country are you?

My 2000 Northface ran like a sack of sh*te until it had warmed up (only on the first start of the day) so I had the codes read.
It came up with MAF output (which I think is where I left one of the hoses out when I changed the alternator and Left and Right Bank Lean. This turned out to be the intake gaskets. Had them changed yesterday, and now it's like a new car.

Thanks
Mike

P.S. I have ordered a code reader / reseter, so if it's any good and anyone needs help, just shout.
