This may seem the oldest question in the book, but im new to the car scene and my car wont start.
It was running perfectly, then two mornings ago, i reversed down the drive, stopped to wait for traffic and it stalled, now the engine turns but refuses to start!
I took off the spark plugs and used that anti moisture spray and replaced them, but to no result.
please help...!
its automatic btw!
thanks

my guess is the timeing belt.

Fuel Pump

Have a look at the fuel pump, my Explorer did the exact same thing (rush time), did it start to shake a bit and then stall? Fuel pump have a tendency to take a vacation without any sign.

I saw it was a question related to Escort, have you tried an Escort board, not that Ex board is no good, but Escort one is more car oriented. Try this one, http://pub51.ezboard.com/bunitedescortownersboard and of course you must register before posting, but you can look before regitering....

Thanks for the replies...i didnt realise there was an escort board, i just searched the net and found this...thats how desperate i am.

Thanks for the info, im going to get someone to come tomorrow and check the fuel pump (or can i do it?) and if that doest work, then the timing belt!

tnks again

ps bruce

yeah, it did start shaking, i thought it was because it was cold out!
