Exactly what transmission do I have..

Mass confusion right now... EEC-IV, 1995 Explorer, transition year, door code is T for the trans. However, I've seen in multiple areas it's either a A4LD or 4R55E or something... Is there a tag or something on the trans I can find out there?

Explorer Trans.

91-94 A4ld

95-96 V-6 have the 4R55E

97-01 V-6 have the 5R55E

95-01 V-8 have the 4R70W

It is supposed to have an obvious tag on one of the connector bolts but if it has ever been removed or someone doing an oil change ect ect decided to pull it off for some reason then you would haft to get you some pics of the different valve bodies and pull of your pan and campare them. I had the same problem buying parts for my explorer bc i new the tranny had been replaced with a salvage yard tranny and wasent sure if it was correct turnes out it was a 5r55e. There may be an easier way to tell but I couldent find one
