Yo. I was thinking of adding a nice cheap addition. I want to add a switch at the floor of my pedal so that whenever I floor the pedal it will shoot flames out the exhaust. I know of a company that makes a kit, but it just seemed to be two spark plugs. Can i just drill spark plugs in the tail pipe myself? Are there any dangerous in doing this, such as back fire back into the exhaust, especially when I'm quickly flooring it? Is there enough fumes in the exhaust to produce a noticable flame? I have a stock exhasut now, but how bout a more free-flowing aftermarket exhaust?

this has been discussed before but it is semi dangerous.... you will need the spark plugs but also a source of fuel to burn... i personally dont feel safe trying to ignite a fuel mixture in my tailpipe......

Ive seen this rigged up with propane before, the guy had a 20lb tank in his trunk, and when he opened a remote valve in the front of his car, and hit the switch, it ignited the propane, but that just kind of made an explosion, like when you ignite your gas grill.

i just read the old thread. it seems that trying to use the residue from the exhaust is not enough. and i definately dont want to even come close to the chance of blowing anything up! i also dont like the idea of tapping into the real gas supply. i like the idea of the propane tank but is there something better that wont be so much of a burst? again, its only going to turn on when i floor it so it wont be on too long at a time but it will have to be stable from the volitile acceleration

What is the name of the show that built the Garbage truck explorer?

They also did a lawn-mowing Mustang that had flames shooting out of two pipes.

didn't the stang shoot flames cause it had open headers? I think my X would do that if my headers were open.

Anyway, I don't think it's a smart thing to do; do put spark plugs in your pipes. But if you are going to do it, you could use fuel soleniods from a nitrous kit to run the fuel down there.

lol yeah i saw that show too it was on the learning channel. it was pretty pimp when they got done with it, 20's and such

the show is Monster Garage, anyone see where they turned the 1998 Beetle into a swamp buggy?

Naw, the stang had a propane bottle in it.

My advice, leave it to the movies and TV! I can see it now: "Dog burned to crisp when neighbor starts truck!"

If you have a carb you can tune it and hit the gas right so all you need is spark plugs in the exhaust. I dont think EFI cuts it for un burned fuel in the exhaust.
