2002 XLT
My 2002 XLT has 107 on the clock and starting to need a new exhaust system(probably from the cat back) Most posts deal with expensive upgrades and a change of pipe size. What is the best way to go without going way overboard on price. Walker etc.? Also is it wise to do something with the manifolds now before problems might surface later? Thanks.

As far as the manifolds go, if it ain't broke don't fix it. You never know if the bolts will come out in one piece. If bolts breka in the head then you are in big do-do. As far as everything else, if you are looking for stock replacement parts call around, local muffler shops could replace mufflers and pipes for a very reasonable price.

Just had my stock muffler removed on my 03, 4.6L, and had and new stainless tailpipe and a glass-pack installed. Sounds perfect, not too loud but still sounds like a V8.
