i am now planning on using a different muffler. i want to run a flowmaster 40, series single in dual out, right from my y pipe, where the cat would be.....
Ok now for the question.. how can i put my muffler on? the flange thingy is oval shaped, correct?

Whoa whoa whoa with the big words man! You're confusing my simple mind!

:D

I would recommend putting it in the stock location as flowmasters run hotter than the standard mufflers and therefore require heatshields and the stock mufflers location already has a heat shield so that way you don't have to buy a shield.

Thats were I havemine and it works great. And I would keep the CATs or else youll lose low end torque.

As for the dual outlet, good luck convincing the shop to pipe it. Every one I talked too was like "can't do duals on an explorer even with lift"

Of course I wouldn't take no for an answer
and managed to talk a local small buisiness to do it and I love em!

And. Think youll love the 40series!

im removing the cats because i can get about $300 for them, but as for my plans.. I would like to just hook it to the y pipe and then dump it. single or dual would be fine. The thing confusing me is how i get a single input to connect to the oval shaped connector on the y pipe.

im still in the planning stages, but i have decided on the 40 because they are decently priced, i like how it sounds on a v6, and i like how around here when people hear them they are like "HEY! here comes a s-10".

i love my dual 40 series flows on my 01 sport
