i called my local shop today and they have some 40 series NON delta flowmasters in stock. Or so i believe, he said they were the orginal flowmasters.

First off, my SOHC has dual inlet muffler...would it be fine to use a Y pipe and route it into the new flowmaster? Just wondering in case this situation arises.

next i'd like to stick with the stock 2.25 inch piping from the muffler back...would this cause me to lose more power than i'm gaining from the flowmaster?

I would like to get around putting new piping on...but if its going to really hurt me then maybe i just have to wait until i can afford to get new piping bent at the same time
I was quoted at $125 for the flow 40 series and install. which i also can save 15 with a cupon i have :)

thanks ya'll

I don't agree with that. I have a 40 non-delta and It is not bad inside at all. I don't even notice it if I have the radio on even low volume.

EliteConcept - A y-pipe would work fine and so would your stock piping. I would not keep the stock piping on forever though, I'd save up for the new piping later on.

i have never really been inside a car with a regular 40 that is just what i have heard.

get whatever you want they are all good choices i just have heard only good things about the super 40

the y pipe will be fine

cool, my main consern was the Y pipe and the stock piping size (at least for now)...which since both will work i seem to be all set...
snocross, i wonder if having the non delta on a sport will make it louder inside?

I don't think the fact that it would be under a sport would make much if any difference. So you rest assured, I drive 30 minutes twice a day 5 days a week and the interior noise of the regular 40 was a big concern. I didn't want it to drone for 30 minutes down the highway. I am glad I bit the bullet and got it because I can't even tell its there inside unless I am trying to hear it. It is loud outside though. I had my brother stand in our driveway and I drove down the road about a half mile and stomped on it and he called me on my cell phone asking if the sound was me. It certainly was :D . But do NOT worry about it being bad inside, I'm sure you will love it.
