To make a long story short, my exhaust is shot and i have to replace it from the manifolds back. I am on a bit of a budget so i have been looking for a stock y pipe and a cat.

I'm having trouble finding a the Y-pipe to Converter Flange so i can use a universal cat or make a test pipe. Does anyone know where i can find the flange im looking for.

I found a person with a y pipe and cat off a 95 explorer with a 4.0l and he say's it's the same as his son's 91 ranger. Does anyone know for sure if it will work on a 94? The part numbers from rock auto and autozone are different but only by one number they seem pretty similar but have not had a chance to look at them next to eachother.

Yea it should work. only things they changed for the most part was cosmetics. Also. I have a 92 explorer. I am running gutted cats and a A flow master

The Y-pipe from a 95 probably won't have the exact same oxygen sensor locations as on the 94, BUT if you can weld, you can cut the sensor bungs from the 94 pipe and weld them onto the 95 pipe in the proper locations, and plug the downstream sensor in front of the cat.

Replacing the manifolds, Y-pipe, and everything seems kind of strange. How exactly is the exhaust 'shot'? Is it rusted and falling apart?

If you really need all new stuff, Walker makes some good replacement products, including Y-pipes, converters, and their Dynomax cat-backs are an excellent choice for exhaust replacement, with better performance and usually a better price than stock-type replacement exhausts.

The y pipe was cut in half to remove the transmission a while back and then welded back together. One manifold has to be replaced because the bolts from the y pipe are far to gone to remove when i have a perfectly good manifold to replace it with. The cat pretty much gone. 205k miles on factory y - pipe and cat's will do that.

I bought the used y pipe and cat from the 95, there is very little difference between them and the 02 bungs are in the exact same location as before.
