thats my explorer, with headers, gms coils, a K&N CAI kit, Magnaflow cat back, under drive pulleys, and high flow cats on the Y-pipe and main Cat.

lol hope im not necro posting, but i got my CAI + magnaflow off of ebay NEW for 750 total, shipped to alaska. so not TOO expensive.

Lovely sound.

magnaflow high flow cats, with either the magnaflow cat back (if you want it to sound only slightly beefer then stock) or Flowmaster 40 series.

Also pick up a K&N CAI. I wouldn't bother with headers unless you're gonna drop $1100 and have kooks make you some custom long tubes.

While I understand that long tubes would be better; I installed some shorty headers by JBA on my truck. This has been the best performance upgrade for my truck thus far...

Results have been mixed on the board, that's why I made that comment.

I have a 2004 Mountaineer 4.6L v8, and currently have Flowmaster 40 series on my truck......it DEFINATELY sounds badass.....turns heads constantly.

If im driving thru an outlet of stores, people are always looking over expecting to see a mustang, camaro, anything but an SUV! :D:thumbsup:

I cant imagine how good it would sound with some Long tubes, deleted cats, and custom exhaust, and a Cam set!

They have a cam upgrade for our SUV's and ive been tempted to try it out......i think it may include new rocker arms,etc......

But I already have my mustang sitting in the yard, so i really cant afford to put another vehicle down even temporarily.

Can't wait to get a Flowmaster 40 series on my Mounty.

IMO with the 2v 4.6L a cam set is pointless unless you're going to do some serious engine work (forced induction, rebuilt bottom end, etc.).
