i just got a kkm and now its time to start looking for exhuast. i have a 98 v6 sohc and i am probably gonna be keeping it for a while so i want exhaust quiet enough that i can live with it for a few years. i know there are lots of brands and i know that some are louder than others...but i would like some suggestions cause you usually dont see any mufflers advertised as being quieter. i hate the way my tailpipe looks and i would like to add some performance and i dont mind paying a decent price for a quality product. if anyone has any suggestions i would appreciate them....thanks alot!!

I would recommend talking to your local exhaust shop and having them make a custom cat back for you.

Good luck.....

Custom cat-back with a Flowmaster 70 should be quiet enough for what you want. I want the Flow master 50 which I hear has a nice deep rumble

Good Luck

I have the 50 series with dual exhaust and it definately has a nice rumble. Kinda like a mustang GT.

I'd reccomend the Flowmaster 50. It's actually quieter then I expected, which was a bonus to me since I didn't want anything too loud. It's there, and it'll let you know when you accelerate, but it's not annoyingly loud. So far it's given me an extra mpg.

thank you for all your suggestions so far. it is nice to get opinions from knowledgable people. i have thought about going to a shop and getting their opinion but there arent many trustable ones in my area. however that is an option. does anyone know about other brands other than flowmaster...its the brand i probably know most about. i have heard mixed things about dynomax...that its loud and quiet and i dont know much about the brand. if anyone has any opinions please let me know. thank once again!!

oh yeah...i want the muffler to be dual in/dual out.

well if your not too concerned about price you may want to consider borla

I would go the "good" muffler shop route, but if you have asked around and there are not any good ones in your area, then I would go the Flow 50 route.

Good luck

I've had the flowmaster "70" for two years and have been happy with it.

Check out Borla and Gibson. They might have a cat-back bolt on system for your model.

Bill... I thought you dropped off the face of the planet. Haven't seen you on the board lately.
