Has any one seen or heard of an Explorer two door trim level being called the Expedition? I know this is the name of the SUV that replaced the Bronco in 1997.

Apparenly this name replaced the Eddie Bauer package on the two door and they were only built in 1995.

Does anyone own a 1995 2 door Eddie Bauer?

Check out this web site and if anyone has one or knows of one post it here. Its mentioned about 1/3 down the page in the Explorer history section. A very interesting site for Ford enthusiasts.

Ya, the 1995 brochure I have lists the 2 door Expedition model as having the Chrome rims and some other stuff... If I can find it I'll post up the pages unless someone else has it handy...

i wish they still made the NBX explorer for 4th gen.

Yes, I saw one just last week. It has been discussed before on the board, one of the frequent posters had one, but I'm not sure if he is still on here or not. I believe that you are correct, they were only offered in 1995 and they have a badge on the rear hatch under the Explorer name plate that reads Expedition.

Thats cool, i never had heard of it until a few weeks ago when i found that site.

I pay more attention to first gens anyway, but i found that interesting.

Thanks all for the info.

Here is a pic of the badge:

I bought a new one on eBay last year for $10 to replace the starting-to-get-ratty badge on Snowball. I thought it was cool, and that it might confuse people... :)

Damn, I want one of those badges now. I'm sure they're not easy to come by. If you keep an eye on eBay though, one is bound to show up eventually.

So is the truck basically an Eddie Bauer? Does it have Expedition in the headrests and stuff? Is it two tone with tan like the EBs?

I wonder how many were built, this seems like a somewhat rare explorer.

The one I saw a couple of weeks ago was the Green color that you see on Eddie Bauer with the contrasting fender flares. It looked like a 2 door Eddie Bauer on the outside. I didn't see the inside because it was in front of me at a stoplight.

basically the expedition package was larger flares, 255/70/16 tires with 3 spoke chrome wheels, and 4.10's. plus i think it had leather, it was a fully loaded Sport. the only one i have seen of was Jason's who hasnt posted here in quite some time, but his looked exactly like mine, save for the wheels.

Yep, ExplorGM has an "Expedition" Sport model. His Ford was my inspiration many many years ago. As already stated, only offered in 95. I almost ordered the Expedition package when I ordered mine, but I really wanted black trim not titanium.

There never was a 2nd Gen Eddie Bauer 2 door.

So I guess 94 was the last year for the Eddie Bauer 2 door. I never really paid much attention to the 2nd gens. Was the top trim level the XLT, or was it XL, XLT, then SPORT as the top after 96? I know 91-94 the SPORT took the place of XLT in the 2 doors.

As an Explorer enthusiast, I will have to start looking at these more closely.

Thanks all for the info.
