Just got my sway bar from UPS this afternoon and had to rush home from work to get it on. Took about an hour with a coffee break & a call to EE. Only six bolts to remove & replace. Squirt some supplied grease on the bushing and install the split collets (to keep the sway bar from moving side to side) and your done.
I gotta say that there is a deffinete difference in the cornoring. One of the best mods for the $.
Check the Group Buy as you can still get them till the end of Sept.

Here is another pic showing the mounting points and the placement of the split collet. The collet is on the inboard side of the bracket/bushing pushed right up tight to the bracket & tightened down w/allen screws.
EE said that they supply the collets w/all sway bars to keep them from moving side to side.

How does the ride quality feel now (potholes etc)?

The EE rear bar is an improvement on ANY Explorer: stock, lifted, or lowered!

Glad you're happy :)

Right as I clicked on the thread, the UPS truck pulled up to the door. lol

Probably gonna install these puppies on the weekend, or if I have time this week.

I dont notice much of any difference going over bumps.
"Ride quality" and "Explorer" just dont seem right being used in the same sentence though.

Hey Bill! I had mine installed today and I'm totally happy with the improvement. The instructions said the collets should be used if the truck has been lowered. As mine is stock, we didn't use the collets. Has yours been lowered ? I could see how the bar could move without them but we followed the instructions. I just e-mailed EE and asked for their advice.

I got mine today, as well. I wouldn't be able to install them until Saturday (Isabel hurricane weather permitting). I could do nothing but stare at the box... so helpless. :( I feel like crying now...

:p

I'll chime in too.

Yes the EE sawy bar is wonderful.

Taking sharp fast corners with confidance !!!!

Easy install.

What more could you ask ?

I used the split collets with a 4.5" rear lift and they worked well.

you don't HAVE to, but it makes it easier.

You do have to drop the spare for the rear though.

On a Sport at least

I did it by myself in less than an hour: no spare and 4.5" of rear lift and 33s, so I had plenty of room under there.

That was why I called EE to find out if there was a benefit to useing the SC on a non-lowered veh. John said that in their testing they noticed some movement of the SB in all the veh.s. He said they test them very hard. So they include them with all SB now.
I just backed up on ramps to give me a little more room and replaced the OEM SB. Didnt remove anything. I cant imagine that removing the tire is gonna make the job any easier. Its very simple as is. Remembering that I dont have a Sport so I dont know if spare tire removal is necessary. There is a lot of room under there.

hmmm...i just may have to pick one of these up...

way off subject here, but hows that stealth box treatin ya bill?

I installed my bar about 2 months ago...and I agree, great product!
I also installed all new polyurethane bushings at the same time, so the install was a bit harder. Man, those stock bushings take some serious effort to get out!!!
I also followed the instructions and did not use the split collets. I have not noticed any movement or noises since the install.
The bar works well.......maybe too well since I just had to replace all 4 tires!!?? All this together makes the ride a lot better.
