Explorer Express X-spec Air Dam

Hey guys! I have a 2001 Explorer sport, and Explorer Express no longer makes the airdam for my truck....but they show the older style...96 through 01 I think? How different are they? You think a little shaving/sanding will make the old one fit on a newer truck? They look pretty close...just wondering if anyone knew?

if you have an 01 ,shouldnt the 96-01 fit

The 99 was different from the earlier ones.

yea it's 98 down and 99 up because mainly of the fog lights.
