You should be able to use the 4WD on a public road in the winter time might wanna check the local laws and see if there any pertaining to this. Just don't make a habit out of using it in the spring time since it's tear up the 4WD system pretty quickly on dry pavement.

all the info you need for the door lock code is right here.......

BTW welcome to the Forum:wavey:

thanks 4 the quick answer..so..i can use the 4wd but only if it is snow, gravel, mud or wet on the road..and if it s clear road without any sluppery conditions it s not at all recomanded to use the 4wd mode in order not to damage the transmission.. .. what`s the difference between 4wd and 4 wd auto..?

the only difference is that auto 4WD will kick in when a tire slips or loses traction
and 4WD engages all 4 tires all the same time equally. Where as the Auto 4WD torque splits the wheels like 35% front and 65% in the rear i think.

4wd auto means when your computer notice the rear tires are slipping, it will engage the front to automatically kick in to 4wd. Many people on the forums prefer for it not automatically kick in , they like to have control of it. Plus with no auto 4wd means you can burn the back tires off when you want!

so..it is ok to use the auto 4wd in wet slippery conditions without the possibility to damage the transmission or geabox ??

i forgot to mencion aboyt that 65% 35 % ratio..i don`t know if it s true because when i bought the car 3 days ago i tested it on a mud suface very slipperry and i gave it a short gas on auto4wd and only the back / rear wheels were spinning...and when i gave it a full gas pedal for a longer time ..1st 2 seconds the rear wheels started rolling and then the computer noticed and the front kicked in ..and i was rolling in 4x4 mode..on auto 4wd..

Yup should be fine. The only time you could have problems with it is on dry roads. but wet and slippery conditions is what it's designed for

Yeah there is alittle delay in the Auto 4WD kicking in because the computer has to see the loss of traction through the ABS sensors and then it wait to see if it's a momentary loss of traction or not before kicking in the 4WD.

Eduardd, ce mai faceti?

Imi pare bine! Drive slowly when you are in mud or snow so you don't lose control of the vehicle... (I have, more than once) Is this your first 4wd vehicle? Are you in the States?

yes it`s ok :) things in Romania are good :)) same o same o :))

hey ..do you know or smby eles an online store or a person that could ship worldwide mode..to my country some explorer parts..i`m interested in some fender flares

To Europe... Maybe the Canadians...

That would have to be done by a dealership in Detroit, New York or Florida. California likely wouldn't do it... I would start with these states first. If the members here know, Canada might be able to assist you better than California.

Welcome, I can talk some Romanian, but not type:rolleyes:

My wife and her familiy are actually from Bucharest, and she still ahs a uncle and Grandparents there. In fact my in-laws were just there a month ago on vacation.

They always joke with me that they need my explorer there to get around because the roads are so bad, and the drivers are worse!

This is romanian politics for you, I heard they desided they needed to finally pave the streets, so they did. Then they desided they need to replace all the sewer lines under the street.:D Genius!:p:
