Yes, I know that Australia:australia isn't in the U.K.:uk: , but you do have the same queen:salute: and maybe some of you have contact with the Ozzies :D

I was looking on the Ford Australia web site and I did not see the Explorer listed. The Escape and the Territory were there, but no Explorer. Has Ford dropped the Explorer from the Australian market? (I like the Territory. I wish they would introduce it to the U.S. market.)

They prob'ly just call it some other name or something......:)...that Territory may be Aussie's Explorer....:)

You are correct, U.K.

I found the answer on Wikipedia. When Ford came out with the current 4th generation Explorer, they did not design a version with right-hand drive, so the Explorer disappeared from the Australian market. Its niche is filled by the Territory, which is a crossover, similar to the U.S. Taurus X, although the Territory has more ground clearance (7 in. vs. 5 in for the Taurus X). Territory also has such niceties as hill descent control.

Once again proving that the rest of the world gets nicer vehicles than we do.

I get the same impression. The Australian and European Fords seem to be sportier than the U.S. versions, especially the Australian Territory and Focus.
