Are the Mid 80's to Mid 90's Ranger parts such as AXLES, SPRING HANGERS, SPRINGS AND WHAT NOT ..... the same as on 1st GEN ex's?

Stock Rangers don't have 8.8" rear end and don't have the same axles. I'll let others comment on the springs and perches...

if your swapping a rear axle over the insides dont really mater, unless it has rear abs, then you might have a problem. ex drivers seem to like swapping the dana 35 solid front axle from the jeep cherokee (not GRAND cherokee) so it shouldnt matter as long as the universals fit. i think 95% of the axles out there have 3" housings it just might be an 8" and not the 8.8" rear carrier. springs, idunno, measure the lengths. perches for leaves are usually flat. so your probly ok there. the other obstacle is it it and spring over axle or spring under axle?

yes,,,and no.

Ranger front susp, should be most of the same as a Ex I belive. Pre 90 are Dana 28 parts though. 91 and up are Dana 35.

Springs in the rear are completly different. The Ex has a wider frame in the rear. Most Raners have a 7.5 rear end, unless it is a 4.0 (not till 90-91) then it had a 8.8, but it is only a 28 spline, vs. the stock Ex 8.8 which is 31 spline.

I'm running first gen Ex 4x4 coils on a '85 4x4 Ranger right now.
