I also have heard this. But in all seriousness the best ways i have learned how to save gas is by keeping the tires aired up to around 35psi and not keeping the pedal to the metal. i have gotten up to 20 mpg in a 5.0 and in the low end 16 mpg.:D

thanks aldive....great info as usual. it will have to wait along with the fan though, right now im saving for new gears, and a rear locker, and new tires/rims. oh and new shocks...and new tie rods, and...ah hell, im basically replacing everything thats left.

for an on and off road rig...im pretty happy with my mileage right now. i average 24 on the highway if i go 65. around the city, its about 17, not too bad. i also obsessively clean my MAF and make sure my filter is clean. project in the works is to build a snorkel, with a custom air cleaner on top, and an aftermarket paper filter...as the oil on the other filters gets on the MAF and makes the readings false.

You could remove the spare tire. All the seats but the drivers seat. Exhaust systems are heavy. Removing front drive train/drive shaft, if it is 4wd.

Some other more extreme measures could include removing brakes, driver, engine, transmission, tires & wheels, body, frame... :D
following this guys line of thought.... drain all the fluids...

do a sport trac chop?? or make it like Izusu Rodeo

I would NOT remove the air bag from ANY highway driven vehicle.

There is NOT a lot of weight to them.

i dont know if anyone has said this already but you can put a smaller gas tank on that would help a lil bit:thumbsup:
