extra connector behind the seat?

i was digging around my truck the other day and had my hand at the bottom of the back of the drivers seat and there seems to be a connector hanging there. feels like it has a cap on it so its nothing thats come un done. but im wondering what the hell its for. 01 sport

It's for the seat airbag that you don't have, you can search here in the forum, it has been discussed several times, also you posted on the 1st gen subforum and you have a 2nd gen...
 






thanks for the reply. ill be damned if i know what gen it is, all i know is when my remote starter was installed the guy had to compair wiring diagrams from both gens. weird half breed year. lol

Yours is a 2nd gen. 1st gen is 91-94 2nd gen is 95-01, 3rd gen is 02-05, etc. The sports up to 03 and sport tracs up to 05 I believe are basically 2nd gens also, there are some cosmetic differences but underneath they're 2nd gens. And yes the yellow plugs are for airbags (side and front are on different plugs), and if yours doesn't have them they're capped off with a resistor to keep the computer happy.
