idea

well, what I did to mine was I simply took out my old muffler and put in a straight through thrush glass pack, one of the red ones. Cost me $18. I spent the $30 on a new tail pipe (that was rusted out too). It has a nice growly idle and growl acceleration, I can hear it at a distance but it is not obnoxious at all. have a good one :)

I have the 40 series as well 1 in 2 out I love it. I don't have any pipes after the muffler so yes I have set off a few alarms as well.

he he

On a funny note~
For a period of about a week, I had nothing behind the cats.... that sounded incredibly loud, but I set off no alarms... I almost went deaf though. I noticed a nice top end but a drop in low end pep. It idled pretty sweet too like that. :: Damn emissions testing and decibal legalities::

I have a Hooker muffler (about 100 CAD). It's solid, and fairly low profile (flat). Inside is bsically straight through. Nice sound and great flow. I also have custom mandrel bends from the cat back pipes.

Magnaflow single in single out. I like the way it sounds, has a deep tone to it and sounds awesome when you really get on it.
