I finally received my F150 coil seats and I want to know if the two tabs on each spacer need to be cut off or not?
Or will they slip on without interference? My search efforts have been uneventfull! I have seen a post stating you have to cut off the tabs when installing the F150 coil seats. Are these the tabs in question? I want to do this only once. I had to wait too long to get these things and I don't want to screw them up. All help welcomed!! Sorry I don't have a pic to clarify my question. (That would be too easy!)

BTW! My warrior 153 are in also. Hope to have pics when done so everyone can see if there is an actual noticable differencewith just the spacers and warrior shackels.

Are you 2wd or 4wd? If you are 4wd drive you will not cut anything. These will go right on then slip the white plastic type piece (anti rattle thing) over the spacer, then install the spring. Hope this helps.

Sorry! I have the 4WD.

So the tabs just stay there in suspended animation, huh? Can they be cut off for the sake of apperance? Maybe I'm just too picky...NAAAHH!

Thanks!!

The tabs face down toward the I-Beam. You will not notice this tab! Leave it.

Tabs down...white things over spacers...GOT IT!

Great help, Thanks!

ok - now i'm confused, i'm gettin ready to install mine (probably next weekend), and here how it was explained to me:
disconnect the shocks and sway bar, loosen the RA bolts if needed, spacers will go on the bottom of the spring, AND THEY ARE SHAPED SO JUST REMEMBER WHICH WAY THE SPRING GOES IN AND THAT SHOULD TELL YOU HOW THE SPACERS GO IN. you need a 1-1/8" deep well socket to get the spring nut off the bottom stud, using a long extension you can get at it from the top of the spring, when you put it back together keep the STOCK BUSHING THING THATS ON THERE .

ok:
question #1 - which side goes against the bottom of the spring?
a - the flat side with the single big nub in the middle
b - the side with the oval, the 2 tabs and the single extended pin

question #2 - stock bushing things vs. white things
is everyone talking bout the rounded cap thingy at the bottom inside the spring?

So many questions. I put my spacers with the side with the pointy thing sticking out of it DOWN so it was resting on the TTB and I positioned it on the rear side so it sort of locked in place against the side of the TTB and against the radius arm. It's my understanding that this is how it's supposed to be done. I don't know what the white thing you're referring to. I just reused the black stock rubber thing on top of the F150 spacer.

Houston...We have a problem!

I tried to put the spacers on last night and ran into a problem. Thay fit fine, however the hole that the stud goes through is drilled off centered. I was afraid to bolt it and leave it this was due to the washer that secures the coil spring not seating correctly. Will it work this way or did ford send me the wrong ones. (They were for a '97 F150 2WD P/N F2TZ5A307E & F, Ford didn't list A & B)

I thought about taking them to a machine shop and have them fill the holes and re-drill them in the middle.
Since they are paid for I need to do something!

Another idea would be to replace the 1/4" washer with a 1 1/2" washer. That would actually give me a better peace of mind. Probably look better as well. Anyone know where to find one?

(It was still fun taking it apart and putting it all back together again.) Thanks for the input guys!

Part #

I'm heading to the dealership myself this weekend to get some spacers (have the warrier shakles on the way). What year F150 should I get the part from? Is the 97 as listed above ok? Has the part changed over the last few years? 2 or 4 wheel drive?

Todd Here are a couple pics to show you what they should look like when the are in. The firts pic is a rear view and the second one is from the front.

You won't be able to fill the holes. That's a cast iron piece and you can't weld onto it. My understanding anyway. It was also my understanding that there was a left and right piece. So maybe having two of one side is making them not line up on one side. Is the hole off on both sides? Do a serch on the part numbers. There on this board some where. I found them when I was doing my lift.

Thank you...Thank you...Thank you...

I've been trying to fing some pics forever!
Those you showed are WAY different than mine!!

Mine actually have two tabs that stick off of the side as if they bolt to something. Maybe I'll try the junkyard, now that I know what they look like.

MAN!! $34 wasted (@$&*#!)
Well, at least the saga is over!

Like they say... "What does'nt kill you, makes you stronger" I must be SUPERMAN by now!
