'99 Ranger XLT
I am getting a new cd player for my truck and was wondering if I will need to get the thing to make it work on a factory amp.

(Sorry I have no clue what its called)

So my question is pretty much does my 99' Ranger XLT have a factory amp

Im gonna get a pioneer 5900 if that matters

Please help me guys

Thanks in Advance

Looking at the wiring diagrams on Ebsco host, it seems that there is only one radio that was put in the ranger. It has an internal amplifier and does not have an external amp. You should just need a wire harness kit (metra 70-1771) http://www.metraonline.com/ so the stock wire connectors don't need to be cut.
