factory cd problems

I just purchased a 98 eb, and I believe it has the MACH stereo system (has a sub and am/fm/cass/cd). Whats annoying me is that when i leave in the morning, the cds wont play. I'll eject it and put it back in. It cuts from the radio to the cd, and it displays the time as if its playing, but nothing is coming out of the speakers. Has anyone ever had this problem? If I keep messing with it, as in ejecting, turning the power off, and pausing it. If you've had this same experience please let me know.

will they not play ever or only in the morning? are the cds burned like off of napster? my friends cars stereo in his nissan would play regular cds but wouldnt play cdrs or cdrws

Actually the morning is the only time see the problem. I'll mess with it for 20 mins or so while driving to school. when i get out of school it starts up fine. I know its not a heating problem. btw- all the cds i have played are real cds, not cdrs.
