I'm not with my 2005 Sport Trac at the moment so I'm going from memory. However I know my Sport Trac has the 3 (or 4) pin connector under the bumper from the factory. Does anyone know if the connection for a brake controller installation is present under the dash?

Will the small (3 or 4 pin) connector work for brake control also?

The 4 pin connector will supply all of the trailer functions EXCEPT brakes. You'll need the proper/matching 6 or 7-way receptacle to run lights & brakes. You can splice into the existing wiring to run lighting to the new 6 or 7-way receptacle but you'll have to run a separate 12 Ga blue brake wire to the 6 or 7-way. AFAIK there is no pre-wired trailer brake circuit on the Sport Tracs, not that I see in the 2005 Wiring manual.

Thanks much for the information. It's odd how we forget these things even though we've done em before.
