A couple of years ago the display on my factory stereo began to intermittantly go dim, then eventually went dead altogether. All the functions work, just the display is dead.

Every once in a while, it will reappear. When it does it's very dim and doesn't last long.

Also, around the same time the original problem popped up, the very left side of my instrument display lights went dead too.

Anyone seen this? Help!

welcome to the site, do a search fro radio fix or something along those lines, this is a common problem and there is a solution to it....

Your instrument panel lights are probably not related to the radio problem. Most likely a bulb in your gauge cluster needs replacing.

Do a search for radio display....it's a very commom problem. Some have tried the DIY radio repair with varying degrees of success. Others have removed the radio and sent it out for repair. I believe there's a guy on ebay that charges around $60.00 to do the radio repair. I sent mine out for repair about 2 yrs. ago (cost me about $100) and it's still gong strong. Lots of info ot the board about this.
