Hey guys got another question for you. I'm have a 93 Explorer and I still have the factory speakers. I won't to replace them. I need to know what size of speakers can I have without cutting. I hear everyone talking about polk dx7. How much are they and will they fit without any modding?

I think DX7s are $99 at crutchfield. When you order, they'll probably tell you those speakers will not fit. Don't worry though, they'll fit just fine.

yeah, the polk dx7's will fit fine. also the kenwood excelon 5X7s/6X8s sound good off the headunit power. either of those speakers will be a great replacement for your factory speakers.

because they are wrong on many occasions. they also day i cant put a CD player in my 92 explorer:rolleyes:

Yep, my speakers do not fit either...according to them :p

I hear what you are saying.... but, why would a business who sells speakers have better information?

I have purchased from Crutchfield for the past 145 years and have always been very satisified.

It doesn't make sense to me.

145 years? lol I guess it's almost impossible to get the right information for every vehicle...Crutchfield is a great retailer for sure.

Yup, they do it with EVERY car, I remember they had the speaker sizes in the Talons completely wrong. I think that if it is not a direct bolt on that has the exact same deminsions as the factory, they say it won't fit. Either that or they do no research, which would be sad, as much as they overcharge for things.

They're not perfect, but I like 'em.

They may have some wrong info, but it's still pretty impressive what they know. I called them to ask about a receiver for my house, they had every bit of info. They have pictures of the front and back of every piece they sell, they have every manual scanned into their computers. I was impressed. Whenever I shop for electronics, I always pay dumb, and act like I know nothing. That way I can weed out the shops that are full of $hit and which aren't. Crutchfield passed with flying colors. Heck, I used to work at Circuit City, and I won't even shop ther anymore because of all the crap I hear people spouting. I tried to tell them not to, but they didn't care. Just wanted to sell.
