failed inspection...o2 sensor

failed inspection...o2 sensor...check engine light on

I have a 96-2 wheel drive v-6. Failed inspection (NC) because of the o2 sensor...Question is , how do I know which one, or do I have to replace all 3(??), which will get expensive as they are about 55 dollars each at the auto parts store. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Also, the check engine light has been on.

If I were you I would go to a different inspection place and see if they pass it. They very well might. Here in MO they don't bother checking all of that stuff for inspection.

Go somewhere (autozone or a shop) and get the code that's causing your check engine light. That should tell you which O2 sensor is having a problem and direct you to the solution.
