Does anyone know why my fan speed drops significantly during hard acceleration then returns to normal when engine speed levels off
only at this does it occur.

Is this something new or has it always done this? I can't say I've noticed it in my previous vehicles but then I very seldom have to accelerate 'hard'.

Mine does that as well and it’s normal. It actually is shutting your AC compressor off so you don’t rev the clutch on it to wear it out prematurely.

I smoked my AC clutch on my 2011 Mustang when I left the AC on and shifted at 8K RPMs. Whoops.

Its new....not sure how long though... just noticed it when I accelerate hard the fan reduced till it evens out was thinking oit has something to do with the AC ?? being on

I'm guessing the post above yours may explain it.
