I want a heavy duty long lasting low dust brake pad. I do tow some and deal with steep hills constantly. Anyone have recommendations?

The ceramic pads are supposed to be low dust pads. I've never used them, so I can't actually voice an opinion. The 2 pads that I've used which seem to be high quality, and trouble free are the Wagner SX series severe duty semi metallic pads, and the Performance Friction carbon metallic pads.

I currently have Satisfied Ceramic Pads. They are awesome, very little dust and they stop on a dime. Plus they were less than $50 for the front.

How many years do you get out of them? Are they better for rotors than regular pads? Many years ago, I used to use organic pads because the auto parts store told me that the rotors last longer with them. They also claimed that taxi's, and police vehicles use them. That turned out to be false as far as the taxi's, and police vehicles using them. They use severe duty pads. The organic pads might help rotors last longer since they don't have as much gripping power. If there is a lot of slippage, it would make sense that there would be a larger heat build up, since there is more friction (the rotors are turning more RPMs until they finally stop). I get longer use out of my rotors with the better pads (probably due to less heat being built up). I don't use Bendix rotors anymore since they once separated on me. I've never had that happen with any other brand.

don't know how long they will last, I put them on a few months ago. And as for the rotor wear I don't really know either, my rotors are already under spec so it doesn't really matter to me.

I have ceramic pads, and Cross Drilled & Slotted Rotors. Stops pretty good for a Med/heavy SUV.

i got the Hawk ceramic brake pads and 4 new powerslot rotors before a year and the difference between the stock brakes is night and day.

i put 15000 miles on them and they still going very strong.

they are very good under heavy braking and any kind of weather with very low dust.

If you change your pads i advise you to turn your existing rotors or get new ones.
