Feedback on KKM intake. '05 XLS 4.0L.

Good morning, I'm new to this site and forum. Have seen a few comments on the KKM intake (I have one on my lincoln). Wondering if anyone can comment on the fuel savings with the unit. I figure the efficiency has to improve the economy but the KKM folks don't have any hard data..Just picked up an 05 XLS v-6, absolutely stock.

I have one but I can't really say how much it improved my gas mileage...haven't kept really close track of that since I installed a lift and bigger tires

I can say it is a very nicely made piece though.

You might try doing a search for "airbox mod" and "stage II intake" in the Modified 2002-2005 forums though...those two threads have some mods that might help in the fuel economy department and are pretty easy on the wallet.

Good PM will yield you good the best mpg in stock form, but if you have the mod bug, then do the search that RONIN said. I wrote both threads, and have detailed write ups to go with them...

I've done the airbox mod only so far and once you stop flooring it to hear that cool whistling sound mpg go back to around normal. Maybe slightly higher but the motors breathing more so I s'pose thats to be expected. Merry xmas Danny! Hows the sct?
