i am thinking about getting 33's, and i was wondering, is it possile to do some wheel well trimming and still be able to fit them without a lift? Any help on this subject would be appreciated. :redexp:

anything is possible with Dr. Sawzall:D

You need at least 4.5-5" of lift or 3" of lift and new fiberglass fenders.

There is no way to fit them without lift without modifying the firewall and other parts, even if you remove your fenders.

how much trimming would be necisary, and what else might the tires rub on?

reread alec's post, you cant fit 33s with no lift. You have to have some type of lift and even a 3" BL isnt enough and requires a good amount of trimming to fit them so you can go over small pot hole at 10 mph

yeah i didnt see alec's post till i posted again, but i can afford a lift now, so i guess ill have to stick with my 31s. oh well

If you really don't mind hacking up your fenders and banging on your firewall, here's what I suggest:

Since you can fit 31s with no lift, get Warrior shackles and F150 coil spacers for under $100. This will give you 1.5-2" and will help fitting those 33s. Also, 33x10.50 will fit much easier than 33x12.50s.

You'll need to cut parts of the front bumper, at least a 2" arc all around your front fenders, and cut and bang at the firewall. You'll also need to cut about 4" from the back of the front fenders and probably take out most of the wheel liners.

In the rear, you should probably get an addaleaf in addition to the shackles for a little more help. With that, the 33x10.50s will fit pretty easily but will rub upon compression. 33x12.50s will require new rims with 3.75" backspacing (15x8 rims) and you'll still rub.

It can work, but be prepared that your front fenders are gonna look like crap.

FYI: I have 3" of lift in front and 4.5" in the rear. I also have Perry's fiberglass in the front. 33x12.50s on 15x8s with 3.75 bs and I still rub occasionally.

I'm going to have to disagree with you guys here, you're info is probably good on newer Ex's but I've had 33x10.5s on STOCK rims with only 1.5" of lift on my 92 and no rubbing on the street lock to lock, except maybe a little on the swaybar( I also have a Jamses Duff bumper.... so that helps, but thats a matter of a little grinding or cutting on the stock one). I agree with the suggestion of shackles, spacers and 33x10.5s on stock rims. 12.5s will be much tougher, as well as with wider wheels (rear of front fenderwell, but thats pretty easy to trim also). So again, shackles and spacers, plenty of info on this if you do a search.
