Ok, so ive been getting my right EB fender ready for primer and was wondering if there was a difference between an EB fender and one without the trim. Im wanting to take all the trim off of the truck and weld the holes. The reason why i ask is because my Left fender is beyond repair and If their not different i could get a normal fender and reuse my EB.

Only difference is that the the Edie Bauer ("EB" stands for "Early Bronco" ;) - grandfather of the Explorer) fenders will have holes (for the flares) while ones from an XL (if that exists), XLS, XLT, and Limiteds do not. Later 2nd gens that are not Edie Bauer also came with flares (I think starting in 2000 !?!)

So if i fill in those holes there will be no difference between an Eddie and any other Ex fender?

That is correct for the 2nd gen 4drs. The Sports changed look in 2001 while the 4dr stayed the same until the 3rd gen came out a year later -- so this doesnt apply to 2001 and later Sports.

Ok, so now im looking at a fender for a 97 Ex in good condition. I might even steal the ones off of the XLT (would have to do more painting tho -.-)
