So I have a few questions about my explorer. I've had my license for a year and love the explorer!

Anyway first question...
I own a 98, 5.0 v8 with roughly 145,000 miles on it. (just turned 20 few months ago)

anyway, When i accelerate, i notice my RPMs jump. even at a low speed
The engine revs pretty high and i can notice a sound difference. Its got a v8 so it has pretty good acceleration but i noticed a loss in that recently. It hesitates a little, almost like the engine is trying to catch up to itself during acceleration.

Here´s an example of what happens: so I pull away from my house slowly and start to speed up (only to about 20-25 mph) and my RPMs jump to around 3000-3500 but the speed stays the same.

Any ideas what this might be? I am pretty skilled and am usually pretty successful when it comes to repairs. However, i have never worked with the transmission. Should I take it to a shop?

My second question is not as severe as the first one, mostly cosmetic. But when i put my drivers side window down, it takes a while to go down, and if its cold....forget it! It doesn't wanna go down. Seems like it would be pretty easy to fix.. is it just the window motor?

Moving this to a more appropriate section.
Your issues do not involve body work.
