So far I am pleased with my now 2 year old 14k Explorer but there are a few small but annoying things going on.
The few issues like windshield noise I see there is a fix for but I stumped the dealer with a serpentine belt that slips when it is damp out & especially when I hit a puddle. All they could tell me is that it didn't do it for them & told me to "bring it back when its raining".
Second is when I shut the car off I hear a light whining of a pulley as it spins down. Cooling fan? They could not hear it so the mechanics hearing must be more shot than mine.
Something I noticed after the last update to sync is that the recycle air button for the climate control randomly turns itself off & usually only when passing by a dead skunk, sewer treatment plant or dusty dirt road. Is there any reason why this would not stay on? Could it be a glitch in the last update?
Last & this just started is the exhaust has gotten louder from the engine bay when I take off. This has actually made the car sound better but just concerned that something is about to let go under there. I am due next month for my oil change & inspection so I will point these issues out again to the dealer. Has anyone out there had any of these problems?
Today its raining & the slipping belt is even worst that last time. I hear it screech & lose engine power during slippage. dealer refuses to replace the belt until they actually experience the problem. I work for a living like most do & cannot drop everything to go to the dealer hoping its still doing it by the time I get there. Another funky minor thing is since the latest update the ambient lighting reverts back to factory default randomly. Think it happened twice in the last 3 months. Not a big deal but when you shell out that kind of money for something you want it working 100%
