i had kyb's 6 mos. ago, sold them, they were too rough. i got edelbrocks 3 mos. ago, i still think they are too rough. i have an EE swaybar now, so handling is not what i need, i need all out comfort. every bump i feel and i hate it. they handle unbelievable but like i said i have the swaybars for that now. so tell me what ya think i should get for comfort and only comfort. i'm going broke buying these expensive shocks and selling them 3 mos. later for 1/2 the price

Since you're almost broke, try the Gabriels :)

Or go with Rancho 9000s so you can tune the ride to your liking and different road conditions.

I also hear Bilsteins are good, but from what you're saying adjustables are the way to go.

will the rancho's adjust to a real comfortable level? i know they are another expensive shock and i don't want to throw my $$ away again. i bought kyb's and have edelbrocks now, both are very expensive and both i'm not crazy about. you can tell they are heavy duty and would last a real long time, they are just too heavy duty for me i think.

My Rancho's adjust a good amount. But i feel every bump on the road based on the fact that I have 4 door leaf springs, AAL, and a TT up front... But putting on 32" tires smoothed out my ride some :D

Besides getting softer shocks (Monroe Sensatracs/Reflexes) get yourself softer tires. Michelins are good "soft" tires. It absorbs lots of road bumps. I thought about getting car tires for mine but with a decent amount of load ratings though.

Should have spent your money right the first time!

Rancho RS9000X's... tell them how you want your ride to feel going over bumps ;)

You didn't have the 3-way adjustable KYBs? I love my Rancho 9000s and I have a very smooth ride even with the SAS, SOA and 35" tires. It's still a truck and I feel almost every bump in the road.

Have you considered a Honda, lately?

I had 5 position R9000s in the front and loved them. Houston has very bad roads so I softened them up there and sometimes firmed them up for the highway. They worked really well.

Now you can get 9 position R9000s that are even better!

Also have you checked your air pressure? Maybe you're running too much?

I use Ranchos 9ways, and they can be made to ride a lot like Gabriels (softy) and they can also be set to feel like Edelbrocks (firm)...
I coulda told you ahead of time about the Edelbrocks...
The Edelbrocks are only good if you are building a highway/sport truck and want minimal body roll.

Oh yeah..almost forgot...my recommendation is Gabriel VSTs since they are a good low price shock. I used to run them a few yrs ago. They will only have a good ride for 20-25000 mi but then maybe you can get some RS9000s or something.

NOTA JP, Id never buy a honda.... just for the record lol:p

Whats so bad about stock shocks? i got 55000miles on mine :D.

< has 80k on his :)

they don't even actually dampen anything it's like riding on just the springs, super bouncy lol

I will be getting some RS9000X's extremely soon though.

no, then i would have had to change the GIF files symbol instead of Honda to VW. And that took alot of work.;) :p

I'm just messin' with Alec. He just traded in Splat for a new VW GTi.

hehe, why would anyone trade a ford for a VW?

Ooohhhh! (NOTAJP steps aside to watch Moderator Emeritus open a can of whoop ass)

well i don't think it's the tires. i have pirelli scorpon at's and they are one of the softest tires out there. the pressure is down a little for comfort also.
