i wish i could find a place that still had them in stock (and for a good price).

are there any online stores that stock audiobahn stuff? crutchfield doesn't seem to carry half the stuff i'm looking for anymore.

i think www.thezeb.com has Audiobahn. but you have to call them to get better prices. since they are authorized dealers they cant advertise a lower price then the MSRP.

try calling them. it's a new model so they might not have an updated page yet.

lee, remember a lil while back i has a thread about my cone rattling? my new one does this also. can you do me a favor and get your sub close to max volume (IF YOU CAN STAND IT) and see if the cone makes a rattling noise like somethin is against it.

I have some other questions. Someone told me you can fit 6x9 speakers in our 6x8 openings, is this true? Also, can you fit 6.5" components in the front 6x8 openings? One last one... is this the amp you were talking about? Thanks.

that's strange. the 1206Q doesnt rattle at all. even with 1200 watts rms pushing it. and the 1205X that i had didnt rattle either and i powered it with 1008 watts rms.
is your enclosure too small? take into consideration that the subwoofer's displacement cuts down on the internal volume of the enclosure.

no i dont think the enclosure is to small because the min is 0.7cu, and i have a 1.25cu box and the sub only takes up 0.15cu. but i thinks its just the certain frequency of some bass and the fact that i have it blatin most of the time. and it CANT blow. its a 700 watt RMS sub (or so it says) and i only have 606 watts RMS goin to it.

Lee if you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay for the sub? Or did you get a deal on it through your work? I am very interested because I think I am going to buy the same sub and possibly the same amp. Also, why a ported box instead of sealed?

i managed to get a deal on it. but i think someone in this thread said ebay has some for about $150.
the sound of this subwoofer in a large ported enclosure is incredible. that's why i went ported.

a deal that anyone else here could get hooked up with.... and how much did this deal cost? :) your in the poconos in pa?

So what kind of box would you reccomemnd? What are the benefits of a ported box?

with these subs i really recommend a large ported box. just ask tac0meat about his setup. he has a 1205X in a 2.85 cuft ported box. and he's using the 275HCX to power it.

How do you plan on building the box? Just curious because I don't know what to do and what size to make the ports. If you don't mind, I will probably have a few questions for you when I buy all of the system.

well the box that i have right now for the single 12" sub is just temporary. it has 1.5" MDF walls and it has two 4" diameter ports tuned around 38Hz. the box i am planning for the two 12's will be a lot nicer. i'm not going to give out any details yet, because i'm still not totally sure. but i will post some pics when the time comes.

if you have any questions about building the enclosure or port dimensions, just ask. :)

Thanks. If ported boxes sound a lot better than sealed than I guess I will port it. I am going for SQ. Not really SPL. Also, could you explain to me how you are going to run it at 1 ohm. The whole Ohm thing is still a little fuzzy to me. If it is a DVC sub with dual 4 ohms then how can you run it a 1 ohm?

i originally thought it had dual 2 ohm coils like the 1205Q. but when i found out it had dual 4 ohm coils. i decided to get the 2200HCQ and run one @ 2 ohms mono, then when i get the second sub i can run them @ 1 ohm mono.

SAW YOU MENTIONED A PEXLIGLASS FACED BOX, FROM WHAT I KNOW, THE WATTAGE YOU ARE RUNNING OUT OF EACH SUB WILL EVENTUALLY DAMAGE THE GLASS AND THE BOX WHICH MIGHT RESULT IN A DISTORTED SOUND. THIS IS ONLY FROM WHAT I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY THE GUYS AT THE GOOD GUYS. :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
