Finally found an overhead console.. :)

I've already installed the overhead console in two '93 explorers. It's pretty straightforward. You just need to get the wiring diagrams from the service manuals at your local library and just run the wires to their factory locations. If you need some help let me know.

Right now I'm waiting for the bracket from Ford because they had to order one.

When you installed the consoles, were they the consoles that had the sunroof switch, or the garage opener holder?

I have the sunroof switch, and it seems to mount different.

Hey Quick, how did you wind up mounting the console with the sunroof switch in it?? It does mount differently than the garage door opener one. I just got lucky enough to find an overhead console, wiring harness, bracket and temp sensor from a 95 EB, but it has a sunroof. The console has a little black tab at the back that tucks under the trim of the sunroof. My XLT does not have a sunroof, so how can I mount it so that it still sits flush at the back?? I'm thinking if I buy it, I'll mount my future driving light switch in the sunroof switch spot.

I also took apart the roof of my truck a little bit and found out that there is already a spot for the console to go. The little slots are cut in the roof already and the holes are there for the mounting bracket to fit in. Things may be looking up for my search!!!

I recently put a console in, I called everywhere and found one that perfectly matched everything. Got it for $30. If anyone needs a console I found one at a junkyard (this was 3 days ago) they wanted $75 for everything. That was the wiring harness, the bracket and the sensor as per my father. The guy at the junkyard here wants the same price for the stuff. I wonder if I can talk him down a bit, cause I was hoping to pay a little less for it. I think I'm gonna go and look at it again tomorrow.
