Finally found Factory Keyless Code for 01 Sport

After reading on another site about keyless entry and Rangers, I decided to take a look at were the RAP is located in them since this thread didn't help me.

BAM! The RAP's are located in the same place on both my 01 Sport and 02 Edge.

Slide out the passenger airbag by dropping the glove box and removing the 2 fasteners holding the airbag in to get to the RAP. The white box you see on the left is the box you're looking for. Take out the 2 fasteners and pull the box out. You'll see the code on a sticker on the top of it. The factory code is in BOLD. Took me about 15 min to complete.

Nice find.. I think we need this thread moved to the Useful thread forum.. I'm sure in the future there will be alot of requests for the location to find the RAP module in the 3rd generation.

real real real easy way i found mine in my 01 sport, in the rear cargo area, to the left (or even right?..well. wherever it is!), is a cover you can open, un screw it by turning it once half way, and then take it off, get a flash light, and look inside TOWARD the front of the car and there should be a little slim rectangular box (RAP module they say?). for me, it was white, and there you should find a sticker on the center, and in bold black numbers should be your 5 digit code! took me 2 minutes to read the black bold letters at 10pm. hope this helps! - marcus

Okay, I am not having fun trying to find this code. I can't find any white tabs under the dash for the air bag to be removed. I looked behind the park brake and there is a set of numbers in plain view on a black module, but they don't work. I went to my local ford dealership and they couldn't find the code on their computer. Can someone please help me before my wife shoots me(just kidding she going to torture me with the nagging). My build date is 08/01 if this helps!!!

There have been many threads dedicated to the location of this code and it seems that it may be located in different places even on the same model vehicle.Try them all and see where it's hiding on your vehicle.Who knows,you may find it somewhere else altogether.Why they made this location so difficult to find is beyond reason.
