Finally got a new box

After months of debating whether or not to do it, i got a new box. I had a sealed box, but that just wasn't doing it for me. I went and bought a slot ported box and let me tell ya, in my mind there is no other way to do it. The sound quality and volume is more than i had ever expected. I had American Electronics build it for me and they did an awesome job.

What are everyone else's opinions on the slot ports, just trying to get a feel for what other people think

is slot ports the same as a bandpass box? if so i have two 12's in a bandpass box and i think its great. i am gonna build a sealed box though just to see what it sounds like

not exactly, but they work basically the same. A slot ported box is one that just have one port for the whole box. On my box, for instance, it is a port that is 2.5 inches by 13 inches. It looks like thing, very crude drawing though

This is a top view, on the left is the port, and the 0's represent the subs.

Your sealed box will give you tighter bass than a slot port/bandpass box, but your not going to get the low, reverberating bass that a bandpass/slot ported box would give ya.
