The bad...

Not too bad for 191,000 miles. But the receiver hitch is rusted and needs to be removed. The shackles need to replaced too. And clean up some rust on the roof the passenger side rocker panel. And new foglights too. But otherwise it isn't too bad.

Since the above is posted in the stock 91-94 section, I will add for the Utah crowd... I bought this and am repairing it for my son. We are still going to work on the Warthog Ranger project, but the EX is more pressing and won't likely be a trail rig. My involvement with the Ex is limited to repair and safety and then turning it over to the Trenchmonster. If he chooses to lift it or modify it, thats his choice. And with that, I'm inviting him to the forum so he use the resources here for his new rig.

Now, onto my other projects once the EX is running. Like making the Warthog flex better...

Well, the truck has been on the road for about 2 months. Rebuilt the A4LD, a pain in the butt, but I think I did a good job. My son lives 2 hours away and has been all over the state with it now.

We did get the AC system charged and it has held very well. Has a very slight leak at a couple of O rings, but my friend had the sensitivity on his leak detector turned way up.

Hopefully, the Monster will join up here sometime.

Looks nice, yeah, lots of rust back there. I'm sure the X will do what you ask of it.

The very first trip offroad it didn't seem like the autohubs were working. But then they seemed to "catch". The next time offroad, the tcase didn't want to switch out of low. Pushed the button on the module in the back and it has been fine ever since. Makes me wonder if the truck had been in 4x4 much. Since then, its been everywhere my son wants to go and working pretty well.

When I get the D35 stuff out from under the Ranger, I'll swap over the locking hubs to the Ex. Or more correctly, I'll hand the parts over to my son if he wants to change them out. In the meantime, he carries an extra autohub and parts with him.

Yes, it is doing what *I* ask of it right now. But we also know the EX isn't able to go everywhere my ZJ can. Only because the EX hasn't been lifted, and it really is quite a bit larger than ZJ. I'll see if I can get the boy to snag some trail photos of the EX. He's down in the Ephraim area.
