Went to the local parts store this morning to pick up a new IAC Valve for my 99 SOHC. The parts man, who is fairly experienced, could not find anything listed for a 99 under the name of IAC Valve. Is there another name for this component such as Idle Speed Control Motor? Anyone else had this problem?

P.S. Had the cam chain tensioner replaced yesterday, warranty work, 22,000 miles on the 99. FYI, I paid 13,400 for this vehicle, purchased from a GM dealer with 21K miles on it. Driven by an older couple, XLT, Loaded, SOHC. I think the cam chain tensioner related noise from the engine, when started, scared alot of people away from this otherwise beautiful machine, and may have caused the dealer to drop the cost. Only time will tell if I got a "deal" on this one. Hopefully not a lemon.

Yes, it is also known as the idle speed control motor/valve.

Thanks to Section525 for the Tip on obtaining an IAC Valve...I've got one on order from your recommended source...and thanks to TPLYNCH for the confirmation on the "other" name for the IAC Valve.
