I imagine that you could just use one for an earlier Explorer, since the rear axles can be interchanged. What are you going to do in the front to match that much lift though?
the whole truck is already lifted, the rear has shackles, which i hate, so if i loose the shackles, and do the leaf over conversion, it will equal out. just got to find a place that sells them....
why do you hate the shackles? also you have any pics of you 4-door leaf spring install? to do the leaf over, you could look at earlier models (as BislamJoe said) and try to custom fab some perches. just a thought.
The smallest lift I've ever heard of with an SOA is 4 inches, and that's with stock shackles. I'm not trying to be an ass (though it does come naturally... but it seems like you'll be sitting a little tail-high. Maybe if you did an SOA with the monoleaf instead of your 4-door leaf pack? That might come out at 3"...
That sounds about right... But SOA is weird - some people get 4", some people get 6", I really don't know why. If you still have your monoleaf, try both and see which one sits the way you want it to. Probably a lot of work though.
You're telling me you get 4.5in of lift off the shackles alone? If so, HAHA! How long are the shackles the, cause mine are long as hell and only get an 1-1.5in of lift. Sounds like yer shackles would have to be about a foor long to get 4.5 in of rear lift.... Sounds a lil fishy to me

Sorry, I just don't totally understand why you would want such huge shackles... I think they look kinda goofy being really long, plaus they ususally don't allow for the best flex...

Also, how did you manage 3in on the torsion twist. I thuoght 2in was the max on those things, in which the ride was then very poor?
