could i please get some opinions on this idea. i am thinkin about mountin my leaf springs on top of my rear axle, for a 5"-5.5" lift in the back, and then placing the front coil springs out of a `84 full sized bronco in the front of my explorer. would this work? would it sit level? i think the bronco's coil springs are a little over 5 inches longer than the explorers'. this thought crossed my mind b/c i am a li'l short on cash and we have an `84 fullsized bronco junked out with new coil springs.

It will never be able to be aligned, not without at least 4" drop brackets for the front TTB.

The full size bronco springs will bolt in yes, but they will be VERY stiff in an Explorer. Your TTB camber is maxed out with 2" of lift and stock drop brackets.

Now anything is possible, I mean you can to bent beams up front, you can ditch the D35 TTB and conver the front to a D44 solid axle fairly easy, it's just a matter of $$$$$.

But those front coils will need some drop brackets, and if your gonna buy drop brackets you mine as well get some 5-6" lift coils that were made for the Explorer.
May I suggest the Skyjacker 6" kit with the extended arms? Excellent kit, then do the spring over in the rear possibly some shackles or an ada a leaf and you are done......
