first post in a long time

First I've heard of that. I'll have to look that up.

It seems difficult to find a lift kit for a Ford Explorer.

you are correct, its because there isnt a major market for aftermarket explorer parts

3" body and 2.5" Truxx strut spacers

What brand is the body lift?

Would this work for the 02-05's?
102010.jpg

Product Number: 102010
2006-2010 Explorer 4x2 & 4x4
2007-2010 Sport Trac 4x2 & 4x4 coil-over suspension 2.5" 1.25" 32 Lift Kit $377

That spacer lift is the TRUXX spacer lift. It will fit 02 - 05, but the kit requires modification (voiding the truxx warranty).

I highly reccomend you look here http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=279667 at BTF Fabrication spacers. Quality product, they're cheaper than the TRUXX kit, and a direct fit on you 2005.

You can use a ranger lift kit is you want a Body lift. It's not a direct fit, you havta get a little creative here and there to make it work out...

Well I'm going to have a shop like les schwab or some other place install the lift. I'm just going to get the parts. Thanks for the suggetsion  Probably will go with that.

yeah i havent heard many good things about the Rancho Quicklifts installed on an EX. Originally they were made for all 3rd gen explorers but there was some design changes for the 04 and 05 explorers so now there are 2 different part numbers coinciding with the years. Seems like a lot of money to spend on the struts and then you still have to reuse your stock spring.

The installation of the strut spacers wasnt bad at all. Ive done everything, including strut spacer and body lift, out of my 2 car garage.

I'll have to keep searching for a lift. Someone offered me theirs, but I don't have the money for it or I would have snatched it up. Got to get new tires for the X when I get the lift.
Like caldwell said not a big market for aftermarket parts on explorers.
Maybe I'll contact my les schwab tire store see what brand of lifts they have for my explorer. Website says they have nothing for the 3rd generation explorer. :(

The only economical solutions for a lift are body lift and strut spacers. No one has produced spindle lifts or anything for our vehicles. Custom solid axle swaps are a possibility but will definitely place a beating on your wallet.

Yeah I'm trying not to drain my wallet. Other things to do than just spend money on a SAS, which would be nice. All I want is about a 2-3" lift and a strut spacer would probably do good for that.

Miller...
I got the k&n filter today, I am already putting it to use. Thanks man.

Glad to hear you got it so quick.

Hey guys, I'll be heading down to Texas tomorrow for the rest of the weekend so I probably wont post up this weekend. Keep up the good work!!
