Hi All,

First let me say I've been spectating since i got my ex and have learned a lot from all of you, Thanks.

Second let me say that Ford did an excellent job designing this truck, it looks good inside and out in pictures and in person. Anyone thats been in my ex was in shock, they were that impressed with the interior and I haven't had so many looks since I had a BMW. To me its new and different, that really swayed me to get it.

I got an XLT with most of what I wanted, I especially like the power lift-gate, BLIS and the best car gadget of all time the backup camera. I have the 20's and the ride seems to be getting a little harsher since I first got it but overall it feels smooth and planted which to me is the most important thing. Acceleration is good and the brakes are great, I never worry about it stopping when I need it to. I'm not used to such a big vehicle but after a couple of weeks I forgot all about it. So far no major complaints.

Now we come to the quips, the ride is quiet till I get to 70 MPH on the highway (wind noise). Yes, I hear plinko noises when it rains sometimes. I floored it once to pass someone on the highway and it bit back.
My MFT has been good as far as what I've seen can go wrong here, I have 2.8 and wont take a chance with 2.11 since everything works, the only issue I had was with my old iPod nano I was going to leave in the car but MFT didn't like it to much. The biggest complaint I have with MFT is how complex some tasks can be, it should all be intuitive and easy. The Nav is good but I miss my Garmin.

I'm very happy with my Explorer so far.

Thanks

Congrats on the purchase, I'm rolling up to about 3 weeks with mine, and I do love it thus far. I kinda like the look of the XLT front grille over the painted Limited version, though the Limited is a pretty awesome package. I got the 20 inch wheels, I didn't need them but I bought the truck off the lot so they came with the truck, I definitely need winter rims and tires as these polished rims won't hold up to harsh winter conditions IMO.

I really don't have much to complain about, I do have a faulty driver seat belt but it is supposed to be changed soon. MFT has been flawless thus far, the lady on Sync has a hard time understanding my requests sometimes but hopefully that improves with the learning feature. I have the Nav unit, I didn't need it either but it came with the vehicle, I honestly think my Tom Tom is so much easier to use that this thing and it has never failed me all the times I've used it, I kinda miss it too.

I have zero windnoise at any speed, you might want to check that out with the dealer. The rain noises occur so infrequently, I do hear them but I kinda expect some noises when it is raining out it doesn't really bother me or register for that matter.

When you said that you were passing a vehicle and it bit back what did that mean ?

Got my car off the lot too.

The same thing that used to happen to my front wheel Maxima, it pulled to the right and I had to react quickly to get it back on a straight line. Not too worried, hopefully it'l get better after break-in.

I was going to start a thread but how's your temperature, should the it be in the middle, its always averaged a quarter of the way up on my other cars.

Thanks

Oh torque steer, Ive heard a couple comments about that, I havent really experienced it myself yet. On the temps, yeah it runs right about the middle point, should be normal.
