I drive a Sonic Blue Ford Ranger. I am very OCD about taking care of this pick-up. Regular oil changes, leaks get fixed, squeaks get eradicated, and weekly washes. I bought the truck used so it wasn't perfect when I got it. Recently I decided to go after swirl marks in the clear coat, being that the Sonic blue shows them bad. The product I used was Meguiar's Ultimate Compound and a DA buffer. Splitting the hood in half I went to work, first using a Clay Bar to remove impurities, followed by the Ultimate Compound on a yellow pad working small sections at a time with light pressure on the DA buffer, and finishing off with Meguiar's Gold Class (I really like Meguiar's in the paint care department). The results were amazing. Swirl marks are not gone but reduced by at least 80%. I've always been skeptical when it comes to products that say "removes swirl marks" on the bottle because I have never found one (that you could buy at walmart no less) that has worked. Just thought I would share my results with every one.
