First time Explorer owner

Hi, just bought a 2000 XLT 4x4 with less than 90,000 miles on it in pretty good condition, except the whole cover for the center console is missing. Any suggestions as to where I could get another one without buying the whole console, especially since the rear heat and cooling ducts are in the back of the console?

Welcome! I'd say either check your local junk yards and Craigslist!

Search this forum, there's a company that recovers them. Pretty cheap to, and then you don't have to clean the nasty crap you'd get from the junk yard
