1999 Mountaineer
99 Mountaineer, 5.0L, 4R70W, 3.73LS gears.

Took a 1,300 mile trip in the newly acquired vehicle, got 17.2 mpg with mostly highway driving. Is that about right?

Got rid of the annoying "key in ignition" chime by removing the lower clamshell on the column and disconnecting the blue contact on the ignition switch. No more chime! Found that fix on this forum.

We've had it 10 days now and couldn't be happier with it.

This is a great forum, lot's of great info. Wish the searches were a little more robust.

Welcome fellow Mounty owner. :)

That is average mileage for a 5.0 AWD.
