i recently bought a 2001 Explorer XLS 4x4 for $250. this is my first vehicle. its got 346k kms ( 214xxx miles) and i found out the 4x4 doesnt work. i decided to drive into snow; then i stopped and i got stuck. when i put it in high the light comes on but the front tires dont spin and when i put it in low the light doesnt even come on. does anybody know what common problems for the 4x4 on 2nd gen explorers are? my dad thought it was the shift motor not sure though.

i couldnt figure out how to upload pictures but these should work.
it's pretty dirty in the prics
and there is a bit of rest but nothing major.

wow not bad at all. wish i could have foud something new like that for $250. i paid $2500 for a 94 eb x.
